Context To have an informed conversation of the future, we must pause and reflect upon the geographical and historical context in which this conversation occurs. This project focuses on the bioregion defined by the range of where the Pacific Salmon run. The participating leaders of this project live within this region, and their identity as indigenous people is inseparable from both the place and the history that has unfolded here. In brief coverage of context of a large geographic region and historical time-scale, generalities are inevitable and should not be taken to suggest homogeneity of place and peoples. With the truth of diversity in mind there is intention here to establish a sense of commonality and interconnectedness of places and stories across the region and over time. |
